Description

Detailed description on our website.

Prime your political autograph collection with this autographed cabinet photo display featuring former British Prime Minister Winston Churchill (d.1965). This influential leader was named the “Greatest Briton” in a 2002 BBC poll and certainly looks the part in this stately image. Churchill is seen looking all business in a suit and bowtie in a 5x7 cabinet photo handsomely framed and matted in gold gilt and linen to overall dimensions of 16x21. Layered with a dimensional quality in professionally mounted and well-preserved display, this prestigious portrait is signed on the bottom border with the stylish signature showing slightly faded (“7-8”) potency. Though the backer card of this photo shows age appropriate wear, the photo remains sharp and attractive.

A brass title plate is located below the photo engraved with “Sir Winston Churchill 1874-1965 British Statesman Soldier & Author I Have Nothing To Offer But Blood Toil Tears And Sweat”. The statesman and soldier references are fairly obvious, but a lesser known fact is Churchill’s 1953 Nobel Prize in Literature for his lifetime body of work, while the blood, sweat and tears quote from his famous 1940 “we shall never surrender” speech has become a part of the common vernacular. This inspiring WWII leader was also the first of just eight people to be declared an “Honorary Citizen of the United States”. Full photo LOA from JSA.
