Based in tiny LaRue, Ohio, the short-lived Oorang Indians were the brainchild of hunting buddies Walter Lingo, owner of Oorang Dog Kennels, and Jim Thorpe, then gridiron star of the Canton Bulldogs. This scorecard comes from a game against the Minneapolis Marines in Oorang's second and final season. It measures 5-1/2 x 9" and is scored in pencil. The Indians roster includes notables Thorpe, Joe Guyon and Pete Calac, along with such colorful names as Long Time Sleep, Little Twig and Eagle Feather, as well as Jim's brother Jack Thorpe. A few small edge tears, otherwise VG.
