Land grants are in some ways the most entertaining of all presidential documents because each one is so specific and unique. Case in point: The borders of these "Three hundred and forty acres and twenty-eight hundredths of an acre" are described in part thusly, "Beginning at a post corner on the margin of the River Negro-fork from which a W. Oak eighteen inches in diameter bears North eighty two degrees West..." And the text goes on at great length in a similar manner. Measuring 12 x 14-3/4", the certificate is dated 6/9/1826 from St. Louis and features President Adams' "8" signature, "J.Q. Adams." Apparent VG-EX with typical minor wear, creasing, folds and restoration. Intact paper seal. Matted and framed to 18x21. Full LOA from JSA.
