Cashing in on his popular work for circa 1970 Fleer trading card issues, artist Bob Laughlin created a series of baseball HOFer caricature stand-ups in 1973. Offered is a Joe DiMaggio piece from this scarce and unique series. Standing nearly 11” tall by approximately 7” wide, this captivating image depicts “Joltin’ Joe” in a classic batting pose with his surname at bottom. Perfectly suited for display, this dynamic piece is affixed on the reverse with the artist’s credit sticker. This captivating die-cut classic shows approximate EX-MT quality with deference to the reverse side easel stand being absent. Additionally some very minor soiling is present and there is a small hole next to the ear, possibly intended to accommodate a hanging string. Otherwise this sharp slugger remains bright and attractive.
